Design & Display

The design of the Galaxy S20+ is elegant and well-executed, as always. This galaxy weighs 186 grams and measures 161.9x73.7x7.8mm. It has curved Gorilla Glass 6 front and back with an aluminum frame.

The screen is a 6.7, Dynamic AMOLED 2X. It has a 1440x3200px resolution with an aspect ratio of 20:9. A noteworthy feature of this panel is its high 120Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sensing. It is a major enhancement in both speed and performance.

It has an IP68 standard, which makes it resistant to dust and water up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. All three Galaxy S20 devices feature QHD+ and HDR10+. With this screen, you get to experience a lightning-fast touch response, super-smooth graphics, and cinema-quality videos.

An upgraded feature in S20+ is 'Edge panels' that has more rounded corners, now. Internal design, UI and Performance

The operating system on S20+ is Android 10, One UI 2.1, which offers the latest trends. The Chipset used in this device is the Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 990 globally and Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 in the USA, which are both extremely powerful.

As for memory, the Galaxy S20+ offers an 8 GB RAM with a 128GB built-in UFS 3.0 storage.

Camera

The main 12MP camera is fixed at an f/1.8 value, while the 12MP ultra-wide camera has an f/2.2 value. The 64MP telephoto comes with an f/2.0 lens in front and OIS that can capture 8k videos. And last but not least, the selfie camera has a 10MP lens.

 It has some new exciting features such as Hyper Optic Zoom and Super-Resolution Zoom, which is called Space Zoom. You get 3x and 30x hybrid optical zoom, with these amazing features. With the new 30X Space Zoom, you can zoom in close and capture images from a far distance or magnify the details of nearby subjects.

The Galaxy S20+ has an enhancement over the S20, which is the addition of DepthVision. It has a ToF pair with 0.3 million-dot depth detection capability. This feature is used for portrait assistance and better image quality. As the Galaxy S20+ benefits from the addition of a ToF module, the depth information is more precise and high-quality.

The cameras come with a lot of exciting features. A very interesting feature is Single Take AI (artificial intelligence) that allows you to capture videos and multiple images from all back cameras simultaneously with just one tap. It can determine the ideal lenses, effects, and filters for your environment, enabling you to capture the best pictures possible.

Then, there is the Bright Night Mode. With this feature, you do not need to be afraid of the dark anymore! Now, everybody can take high-quality pictures and videos in low light conditions like a pro without using a flash. 

The Super Steady video Mode offers highly stabilized and high-quality videos even when you or the subject is moving, which is available at Full HD resolution.

S20+ is a great device for recording videos as it gives you a variety of recording options. You can choose between two zoom levels in the UI or even different resolutions. Recording 8k videos is no longer a dream 8K and can be done at 24fps with Galaxy S20. You can even capture zoomed video at night and still achieve great quality.

The ultra-wide camera can switch between 1080p and 4K. All cameras deliver a detailed level of consistency in colors, along with impressive quality and high dynamic range.

There is also the portrait mode or Live Focus that features a lot of effects and can be used for both pictures and videos. The Live Focus mode is not just for human subjects; you can take equally perfect photos of non-human subjects.

Battery

There is notable growth in battery capacity. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ has a powerful 4,500 mAh battery. It supports Fast Charging up to 25W, Fast Qi/PMA wireless charging over 15W, and reverse wireless charging up to 9W.

Reverse wireless charging allows you to share your phone’s battery and charge your Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds+ with ease. It works with Qi-certified devices. So, you can charge any device that is charged via Qi, using your smartphone’s power.

Speakers

The Galaxy S20 has one of the loudest speakers of all time with great low-frequency response. The main speaker is at the bottom, and the earpiece acts as a secondary speaker.

Features

Samsung Galaxy S20+ supports Samsung DeX support, which in fact is the desktop experience. It also features accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, ANT+, FM radio and Bixby natural language commands and dictation.

Samsung Wireless DeX is a Desktop eXperience feature that works wirelessly in the new upgrade and works with all Miracast-compatible smart TVs. In a nutshell, with this feature, you can enjoy your smartphone’s features on a big screen. For example, you can display your photos and videos for a big crowd on TV.

Another interesting sharing option is Music Share that works by Bluetooth 5. It lets you connect your device to a BT speaker. Therefore, your phone can be used as a hub for other phones to connect to the speaker, which is quite useful with car audio setups.

Quick Share is the most recent sharing solution from Samsung that uses Bluetooth for device discovery and Wi-Fi direct.

As for biometric security, it supports both ultrasonic fingerprint and facial recognition.
