Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G
This time Samsung is giving you all you could ask for in a smartphone! S20 Ultra 5G comes with quite a large display, a better battery with faster charging than ever, accompanied by an unbelievable 16GB of RAM. But that’s not all!
Design & Display
The design of the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G is elegant and well-executed, as always. The power button and volume rocker are both on the right side for easier access. There is Gorilla Glass 6 on both front and back with a metal frame. The structure has an IP68 rating, which makes it resistant to water and dust.
The screen is a 6.9, Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. It has a 1440x3200px resolution with an aspect ratio of 20:9. A noteworthy feature of this panel is its high 120Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sensing. It is a major enhancement in both speed and performance.
S20 Ultra 5G features Dolby Vision and HDR10. The display is one of the brightest screens ever with 894nits in Adaptive brightness mode, and the screen gives you the experience of a lifetime with lightning-fast touch response and cinema-quality videos.
The colors that this phone comes in are beautiful Cosmic Black and Cosmic Grey, which makes you want to buy your smartphone right now!
Operating System & UI
The operating system on S20 Ultra 5G is One UI 2.1 on Android 10, which is extremely user-friendly and provides a lag-free and pretty smooth overall experience while offering a lot of features and apps.
The Always-On Display feature gives you plenty of options like different clock styles, font colors, notification settings, and a lot more.
A beloved classic feature is Edge Panels. It has more rounded corners. Therefore, you can quickly access your apps, actions, tools, etc., just with a single swipe.
Edge lighting is another feature that can light up the outline of the UI in a wide variety of glow types that alert you in case of any new notifications.
Quick Share is the most recent sharing solution from Samsung that uses Bluetooth for device discovery and Wi-Fi direct.
Another interesting sharing option is Music Share that works by Bluetooth 5. It lets you connect your device to a BT speaker. Therefore, your phone can be used as a hub for other phones to connect to the speaker.
Samsung Wireless DeX is a Desktop eXperience feature that works wirelessly in the new upgrade and works with all Miracast-compatible smart TVs. In a nutshell, with this feature, you can enjoy your smartphone’s features on a big screen. For example, you can display your photos and videos for a big crowd on TV.
As for its versatile biometric security, it supports both ultrasonic fingerprint authentication and facial recognition for more convenient access to the home screen.
Some of its other features and Apps are System Dark Mode, Game Launcher, Play Music, and Gallery.
Internal design & Performance
The Chipset used in this device is the Octa-Core Exynos 9 Octa 990 that runs smoothly and has no issue being used for heavy usage. As for the memory, the Galaxy S9 offers 12/16GB RAM with 64/128/256/512GB built-in UFS 3.0 storage.
The most amazing thing about this phone is its camera, which is unique to The Galaxy S20 Ultra. The main camera has a 108MP imager called Nonacell and an Isocell Bright HM1 sensor. Nonacell gives us better noise performance and HDR output. Furthermore, the large size of the sensor promises good light gathering capabilities and a shallower depth of field, which is a great feature for subject isolation.
The telephoto shooter is of 48MP quality, and its periscope lens has 4x optical zoom over the main. In this camera, there is a large sensor tucked that offers versatile zoom options.
The ultra-wide comes with a big sensor and large pixels along with a ToF pair.
Last but not least, the selfie camera has a 40MP Quad Bayer one that offers autofocus, bright pictures, and excellent dynamic range, making it incomparable with any other selfie camera!
The cameras offer a lot of options such as full-featured Pro mode, 100X space zoom, Metering Mode, and AF area. Another option is a set of picture controls for contrast and saturation.
As for the video recording, all cameras allow you to shoot 8K videos at 24fps and 4K videos at 30fp with stability. The main camera offers 4K videos at 60 fps and zoomed-in footage at 2x, as well. The quality of the Videos is detailed, steady, and magnificent with great dynamic range overall.
A new feature is Essentially Burst Mode turned Beast Mode, which is a fun feature that makes funny clips by recording videos from you. Another new mode is Night Hyperlapse that takes long exposures to create light trails.
You do have Night mode in this device that works miracles in poor lighting conditions. The pictures are noise-free and have wonderful color saturation. The highlight retention and shadow quality are improved as well.
The Super Steady video Mode offers highly stabilized and high-quality videos even when you or the subject is moving, which is available at Full HD resolution.
There is also the portrait mode or Live Focus that features a lot of effects and can be used for both pictures and videos. The Live Focus mode is not just for human subjects; you can take equally perfect photos of non-human subjects.
There is notable growth in battery capacity. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G has a powerful 5000 mAh battery. It supports fast charging over 45W, fast Qi/PMA wireless charging over 15W, and Reverse wireless charging over 9W.
The S20 Ultra 5G has a great feature called Wireless PowerShare or reverse wireless charging that allows you to share your phone’s battery and charge your Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds+ with ease. It works with Qi-certified devices. So, you can charge any Qi-certified device using your smartphone’s power.
The S20 Ultra 5G has one of the loudest stereo speakers of all time with great low-frequency response. The main speaker is at the bottom, and the earpiece acts as a secondary speaker.
S20 Ultra 5G delivers superfast connectivity for a faster experience with much fewer lagging. Now, downloading movies and streaming videos is faster than ever. It offers more responsive gaming and Real-time interactivity. Thanks to the groundbreaking 5G connectivity addition, you get to experience lower latency, less network congestion, and an ultra-high network speed even in densely populated areas. 5G also protects your privacy as there is no need for you to connect to unknown public Wi-Fi or hotspots.
Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G features accelerometer, NFC, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, FM radio, and Bixby natural language commands and dictation. It is noteworthy to mention that S20 Ultra 5G comes with a card slot that accepts two nano-SIMs or one nano-SIM and a microSD card.
