لم يحصل تغيير في التصميم العام للجهاز قياساً إلى ماك بوك air لعام 2019، والذي يتميز بهيكل من الألومنيوم على شكل وتد وشاشة بمقاس 13 بوصات من نوع ريتينا، حواف ضئيلة سوداء ولوحة تتبع من نوع Force Touch.
تحتوي الشاشة على أكثر من 4 ملايين بيكسل ودقة تصل إلى 2560x1600. يتميز الجهاز بشاشة ساطعة ونقية مع صور نابضة بالحياة ونصوص واضحة.
